Accessibility Issues
You may or may not be aware as an internet user that
in 2000, several legal cases established precedents that require
any publicly accessible web site to conform to certain standards
which make a site accessible to the sight impaired.
As of this writing, even many large commercial portal
sites fail to conform to these standards, and are, therefore, technically
liable to lawsuits.
This site, in fact, is not properly designed and
coded to conform to these standards.
We are currently working with a2zguide.com to become
compliant with these standards, and by the end of the summer (2001)
hope to have completed a2zguide.org, and a compliant version of
this site.
If you have skills in this area, and would like to
work with us to help build a more accessible web, please contact
us. We'd be interested in donating our design services to organisations
that are addressing this issue, free of charge, or to donating space
here to help promote this idea and disseminate useful or relevant
information.
